Table Maintenance

The Table Maintenance screen is used to maintain the definitions, categories, and options used on the pull-down menus; for example, treatment types, overlay codes, functional classification, and surface types are defined on this screen.

There are thirteen tabs in the Table maintenance screen. You can add or edit options in seven of the tabs and read the remaining six tabs. The Table Maintenance screen is shown below.

The purpose of each of these tabs is listed below.

  • The Area ID tab is used to establish definitions for the Area ID field.
  • Treatment Description stores descriptions of the treatment types that are available in your system and allows you toadd additional treatment descriptions.
  • Funding Source is used to define the funding sources that are available for your jurisdiction.
  • General Code is used to define codes that identify pavement sections with common characteristics for your agency.
  • Jurisdiction stores jurisdiction name and other information needed for use in your system.
  • Lane Cost stores the cost to replace a square foot of pavement based on a functional classification.
  • The PCI Break Points tab contains information regarding the trigger values used between condition categories.
  • The Distress Type - AC tab provides a list of the distress types associated with asphalt surfaced pavements (surface types AC, AC/AC, AC/ACC and ST).
  • The Distress Type - PCC tab contains a list of the distress types connected with a Portland Cement Concrete surface (PCC).
  • The Overlay Code tab contains a list of the overlay codes that control how treatments are analyzed in the needs and scenarios calculations.
  • The Severity tab contains a list of distress severity codes and descriptions.
  • The Surface Type tab provides a list of surface types and the corresponding descriptions.
  • The Functional Class tab contains a list of the names and descriptions of Functional Classifications.

Example Uses

Here are some example uses for General Code and Area ID screens. These fields can be used for selection criteria for such items as calculating budget needs and producing reports for miles of various inventory items by maintenance or counselor district. The names are limited to two alphanumeric digits.

General Code
Bike lanes Designate if the roadway has them or not.
Street Lighting Does any part of the section fall in a school zone.
Curbed Street Is the street curbed or non curbed, type of curb.
High Water Does high water affect the road during heavy rains.
Contractor Which Contractor put present surface on.
On/off System Is the road designated by FHWA/State DOT.
Various Routes Snowplow, Sanding, Mowing, Spraying etc..
Terrain Type of topography the roadway resides in.
Location Closest city it serves.
Seasonal Is the road open all year or just seasonal.
Drainage Open ditches, catch basin, gutters etc...
Parking Is parking allowed on road side or paved shoulder.
Speed limits Is the posted speed between (25-35) (35-45) etc..
Jurisdiction Used by Counties to maintain city streets (vice versa).
Environmental Live fish streams, endangered plants etc..
Safety Corr. Has roadway been designated as a safety corridor.
Scenic Byway Has roadway been designated as a scenic byway.
Truck Route Does the road carry above normal amount of trucks.
Median Is the road a divided road (center median or curb).
Traffic Flow Is the road a one way traffic flow.
Area ID
Maint. Districts What maint. District does the road fall under.
Jurisdiction Who does the road belong to, who maintains it.
Council Dist. What elected official district is the road in.
County What county is the road in.
Department What department is responsible for it, Parks, Jail etc..
Geographic Is it mountain, coastal, urban, farm etc..
