The Budget Needs option estimates the funds required to maintain your road network over a selected number of years. Budget Needs are calculated from the Calculations screen, illustrated below.
To calculate budget needs:

Click on the Budget Needs radio button. Four fields become visible.

Enter the following information:
Inflation Rate (5 = 5%) - In the Inflation Rate field enter the inflation rate used by your jurisdiction. You may want to consult your controller for help with this option. Zero is an acceptable value, This only inflates costs. Interest Rate (5 = 5%) - In the Interest Rate field enter the interest rate used by your jurisdiction. You may want to consult your controller for help with this option. Start Year - In the Start Year field enter the first year to be budgeted. It cannot be earlyer that the current year. Years to Calculate In the Years to calculate, enter the number of years of the budget calculation. This value must be 5 or greater but no larger than 20. |
