Menu Bars

Virtually every screen in every System has a menu bar located beneath the title bar. The tools that can be used on this screen are arranged in the menus. The most common menu bar has four options: File, Record, Windows, and Help.

To access menu options use the mouse or keyboard shortcuts.

To access an option with the mouse, click on the drop-down menu title. Then, click on the option.

To access an option using the keyboard, press <ALT> key and the menu option underlined character. Then, press the key corresponding to the underlined character of the sub menu. For example, to select Reports from the File menu, press <ALT> + <F>, then <R>.

The File menu can open the reports screen and can also exit the screen. The File menu can also jump to all the screens included in this system. The common File menu is illustrated to the left.

The options on the most common Record menu enable you to add, edit, delete, save, cancel, browse, sort, view, search, and sort records. The common Record menu is shown to the left. On the main menu screen, the Record menu does not appear on the menu bar.

The Windows option lists any open screens. By selecting a screen name, that screen will become the active screen and appear in front of the other open screens.

The Help drop-down menu has five help options and the feedback option. The most common Help menu is shown to the left.

The main Help screen menu has two additional options titled Status and About. The Status option provides information on the current status of the System database for your jurisdiction. The About option provides information about the System you are using.
